1.
How obvious do the hints need to be before we recognise the price of a life built on greed? Half the world’s on fire while the other half drowns we partied so hard it put us all into lockdown It’s not the end of the world but you can see it from here How about we pull the whole damn thing down Rip up and start again Plant something better in the ground Prioritise the many, not the fortunate few Who took everything they wanted Then razed the ground in front of you It’s not the end of the world Let's build something better on the other side
2.
We didn’t take the warnings too seriously When they shut us all down we all hit the beach It’s hard to be afraid of what you cannot see It all happened so slow, and then so suddenly We are where you will soon be We are where you will soon be We stood on balconies and sang till our throats got sore As husbands raged and raised hands behind closed doors We mourned our loved ones and old enemies Learnt to ignore sirens echoing down empty streets We are where you will soon be We are where you will soon be And when it’s all done We will not forget The kindness of strangers And the guilt of the ones who tried to profit from the mess The politicians’ fatal fails Today we pick up the pieces But tomorrow we will rage

about

Our latest songs were written in lockdown. The title track is about our hope that collectively, we'll see this crisis as a trailer for the devastation climate change will bring: the "half the world's on fire" line refers to the wildfires we saw in Australia and in the US just a few short months ago. These are sad times, we know, but we're trying to find hope: maybe on the other side of all of this we'll realise that we have the opportunity to reboot and do things differently.

about

HAVR Glasgow, UK

HAVR make big music. It’s music born of love and of loss, of hope and of heartbreak, the sound of big hearts beating inside bruised bodies.

HAVR are Kenny Martin (bass), David Marshall (guitar) and Carrie Marshall (guitar/vocals).

Influenced by post-punk, pristine pop and power trios, Kenny, David and Carrie are having too much fun to stick to a single genre.
